چکیده

Refractory linings can withstand severe working conditions and are widely used for the of many high temperature applications, such as steel ladles. Some these built with dry joints. These structures undergo very complex responses in service conditions, making prediction its behaviour a challenging task. To develop robust numerical tools, experimental validation is necessary. The present paper gathers considerable database on mechanical thermomechanical characterization refractory masonry joints (up to 1500 °C). test setups, measurement techniques, specimens, procedures, results large-scale campaign presented. tests help understanding linings. Aspect closure reopening, dimensional shape tolerances bricks, creep stress relaxation investigated. essential developing, calibrating, validating efficient models design optimization

Application of the method of multiple scales for nonlinear vibration analysis of mechanical systems with dry and lubricated clearance joints

In this study, the method of multiple scales is used to perform a nonlinear vibration analysis of a mechanical system in two cases; with dry and lubricated clearance joints. In the dry contact case, the Lankarani-Nikravesh model is used to represent the contact force between the joined bodies. The surface elasticity is modeled as a nonlinear spring-damper element. Primary resonance is discussed...

Characterization of Thermomechanical Behaviour of Skin Tissue II. Viscoelastic Behaviour

paper presents the viscoelastic behaviour of skin tissue under different thermal loadings and discusses the effect of temperature and corresponding dermal collagen denaturation on the mechanical viscoelastic properties of skin tissue. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) has been used to detect dermal collagen denaturation and to assess its thermal stability. The DSC results under various he...

Topology optimization of masonry blocks with enhanced thermomechanical performances

1. Abstract Topology optimization is employed to define the geometry of the cross-section of any masonry block that minimizes its thermal transmittance, with the aim of maximizing the thermal insulation of masonry buildings. Constraints on the mechanical properties of the block are also prescribed. The effect of the design constraints on the optimal layout of the blocks is investigated. The the...
